Harlequin Productions Joins Forces with AAPA to create Harlequin Student Productions
Aberdeen Academy of Performing Arts are delighted to be joining forces with Harlequin Productions to offer young people between the ages of 17 years old (6th year at school) and 23 years old the chance to take part in a new Musical Theatre company : <br>' Harlequin Student Productions'.
This new company will aim to follow in the footsteps of Harlequin Production's current adult theatre company by bringing fresh, new and different musical theatre shows to the stage. Harlequin Productions are known for creating gritty theatre which favours nuanced, honest, simple and effective entertainment.
The company will begin auditioning for members in May 2012 and will begin its first year at the end of August 2012. Company members alongside rehearsing for their show or when not rehearsing for a show will be able to continue their Musical theatre studies by taking part in Advanced Level Trinity College exam and work towards the SQA Accredited NPA Musical Theatre course through Harlequin's link with Aberdeen Academy of Performing Arts.

Open Day – Sunday 24th March 10-2pm
We are delighted to announce that our open day for our professional part time and full time foundation and HNC courses will be on Sunday 24th March from 10-2pm. Come along and see our studios for yourself and pick up information on all the courses.
You can arrange an audition date on the day and take part in some workshops too.

Alton Towers 2012 and IFDPA 2011
Our Stage competition trip this year is to take part in the 'Just B' Competition in Alton Towers in September.
We did extremely well at the International Festival of Dance and Performing Arts in Disney Land Paris in October 2011 taking home the 3rd place for Baby Street Dance, 3rd Place for our Senior Ballet Group, 1st for our Disney Dance Duo and 1st for our Disney Musical Theatre Duet. Mitchell Sinclair and Samantha Fraser came overall 2nd in the Disney Competition and Sian and Tiegan Blackhall came 1st in the Disney Competition.
Well Done to both duets as they beat stiff competition from all over the world!
BATD Scholarship Nominations
Our dance star Mitchell Sinclair was nominated by our BATD examiner last June to take part in the BATD Dance Scholarships. Mitchell received nominations for all branches of Dance: Ballet, Tap/Stage/Jazz. Although Mitchell didn't win a Scholarship at the competition he had a great time taking part in audition workshops taught by some of the best choreographers and teachers in the UK and danced alongside the best young dance talent the UK has.

Musical Theatre Shows June 2012
We are delighted to be at the Lemon Tree from 20th -23rd June 2012 for our Musical Theatre productions.
This year our Intermediate Students will perform 'Seussical Jr'. and our Foundation Students will perform the Disney Classic 'Jungle Book' kids.
Tickets will be on sale from April.
